Service Description

This book Club is best suited for rising 3rd or 4th graders who have experience reading longer chapter books. We will read two historical fiction books; One Crazy Summer and it's sequel, P.s. Be Eleven. One Crazy Summer: Set during the summer of 1968 in Oakland, California, “One Crazy Summer” follows the lives of the Gaither sisters, Delphine, Vonetta, and Fern, as they visit with their mother who abandoned them some seven years before P.s. Be Eleven: Eleven-year-old Brooklyn girl Delphine feels overwhelmed with worries and responsibilities. She's just started sixth grade and is self-conscious about being the tallest girl in the class, and nervous about her first school dance. She's supposed to be watching her sisters, but Fern and Vonetta are hard to control.
